The Mishicot Police Department has said that a teacher at Mishicot High School was taken into custody yesterday.
The Police Department says there is no threat to the school or the public.
Andy Lee Coenen was listed as an inmate in the Outagamie County Jail on criminal offenses including; sexual exploitation of a child-employ, use, induce – by a person under the age of 18, exposing a child to harmful material, and soliciting intimate representation from a minor.
No further details have been released.
2nd letter to parents regarding the staff member that was arrested:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This morning, I shared with you that a member of our staff had been placed under arrest. I wanted to follow up and provide you with an update, as we have learned more about the situation.
The staff member, Andy Coenen, is a special education teacher at Mishicot High School. He has been arrested and tentatively charged with criminal offenses. You may view the criminal complaint at this link.
Mr. Coenen will be placed on administrative leave and will not be allowed on school grounds. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact either the Mishicot Police Department (at 920-755-4041) or Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department (at 920-832-5605).
We continue to cooperate with local law enforcement officers, and we appreciate the work they have done to address this situation quickly.
As I stated earlier, we will continue to do everything we can to ensure the safety and security of our students.

1st letter to parents regarding the staff member that was arrested:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This morning, the School District of Mishicot was informed by law enforcement authorities that a member of the high school staff has been placed under arrest.To our knowledge, the arrest was made in relation to an alleged situation that occurred off district property and that did not include any Mishicot students. However, as always, we encourage our students and families to report any inappropriate or potentially illegal activities to the Mishicot Police Department by calling 920-755-4041.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation. Please know that we will continue to do everything we can to ensure the safety and security of our students.
