For those who are able donating blood this holiday season is one of the best gifts you can give.
The American Red Cross says between Thanksgiving & Christmas, more than 1 million units of blood could be ‘transfused’ in the United States.
People are urged to give this lifesaving gift by making an appointment to donate blood and help ensure a sufficient supply is available for patients this season.
Those with Type-0 blood are especially needed.
Upcoming blood donation opportunities in the lakeshore area include Shoreline Credit Union at 4400 Calumet Avenue next Monday December 9th from 12:30 to 4:30pm.
Also Monday, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, at 11-303 Wehausen Road will hold a blood drive between 1:30-and-6:30pm.
