Three-fourths of the way through the 2019 season and the Green Bay Packers are still averaging negative yardage on punt returns.
The N-F-L Network is reporting the Packers claimed Tyler Ervin off waivers from Jacksonville Monday afternoon. Later in the day, the team announced it had released Tremon Smith.
Not only has Green Bay been bad on punt returns, the team’s 19-and-a-half-yard average on kickoff returns is ranked dead last.
Ervin has returned 61 punts during his career, averaging 8.3 a return.
