Yesterday’s winter storm left many in eastern Wisconsin without power, and Wisconsin Public Service is continuing to help those affected.
As of this morning 27,000 customers had their power restored, with crews continuing to work through the night.
Similar to the storm that affected Western to Northern Wisconsin prior to Thanksgiving, trees, and power lines were downed, and tree limbs fell onto the lines which caused a majority of the outages.
Crews have also been battling the slick roads, making their work a bigger challenge.
The majority of the outages remain in Brown, Kewaunee, Door, and Oconto Counties.
WPS is reminding people that come across a downed power line to stay at least 25 feet away from it, and report it to WPS or local law enforcement.
