A 46-year-old mother in Racine admits she punished her son when he failed to turn in a school assignment.
The 12-year-old boy says she beat him with a belt, then used a power cord that plugs into the T-V to hit him another 20-to-30 times. He told people at his school he was afraid to go home.
His mother, Cynthia R. Beal, was arrested when she returned home from work.
Beal has a preliminary hearing scheduled for December 11th on charges of felony physical abuse of a child, intentionally causing bodily harm and disorderly conduct.
