There is a new opportunity for giving to the animal community in the Lakeshore this year. Seehafer Broadcasting is helping support the Lakeshore Humane Society with a donation drive known as Operation Santa Paws.
The Society normally has almost 200 cats in its shelter at a time, and Tina Nichols of the Humane Society says that creates a significant need. “The amount of cat litter we go through at our shelter is unbelievable,” Nichols stated. She said they have around 200 litter boxes.
Ruby Gutierrez of Seehafer Broadcasting has led the effort and created a giving tree at our lobby at 3730 Mangin Street in Manitowoc where community members can select a donation to make.
Nichols says you can also donate money. She explained. “We do have a contract with the cities, but we are primarily donation based, so financial support is always always needed.”
Donations will help in the care of nearly 1,500 lost and homeless animals in Manitowoc County each year.
