Maryland held normally high-scoring Markus Howard to just six points while beating Marquette 84-63 Sunday in the championship game of the Orlando Invitational.
The score was tied at 11-apiece when Maryland scored a dozen points in-a-row and never trailed again.
Howard hit only one-of-12 floor shots against the undefeated Terrapins. Sophomore forward Brendan Bailey scored a career-high 27 points to lead the Golden Eagles. He got 21-point help from Sacar Anim.
Marquette (5-2) hosts Jacksonville Wednesday.
