Beloit police say several people attending the Grand Lighted Holiday Parade Friday narrowly avoided injury when a Darlington man drove through barricades and into the parade route.
38 year old Curtis L. Metz was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, fifth offense.
A passenger, 52-year-old Aaron L. Frayer of Beloit, was also arrested when the truck finally stopped in a field in Winnebago County, Illinois.
No one was injured in the incident.
