The Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County says it has several dozen dogs available for adoption.
The shipment of 50 was flown in from an overcrowded shelter in Phoenix.
A Society spokesperson says the dogs all need a forever home.
It is possible more dogs will be imported from other regions of the country in the near future.
