
State elected officials and senior Wisconsin National Guard leaders will join families and friends to welcome home approximately 190 Wisconsin Army National Guard “Red Arrow” Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 127th Infantry.
The soldiers with the Appleton based Infantry unit will be arriving at Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center in Camp Douglas, Wisconsin at around 1:45 PM on Friday. The 190 Soldiers returning Friday represent the first wave of 400 total returning Soldiers.
The remaining 127th Infantry Soldiers returned from Afghanistan to Fort Bliss, Texas Nov. 23 where they will complete demobilization requirements before returning to Wisconsin in the coming weeks.
The Wisconsin National Guard will announce homecoming ceremony plans for the second wave of returning Soldiers as they become available.
