The holidays are upon us. Whether you’re feeling like Santa or Scrooge everyone needs to pay special attention to fire safety in this season of twinkling lights, overstuffed ovens and fresh cut trees.
The Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin Charitable Foundation has issued a few tips to help keep your family safe this year.
- When putting up your tree, be sure to keep it at least three feet away from any heat source.
- When you buy a new string of lights, make sure that if you plan on hanging them outside, that they are intended for that use, as misuse could cause a short and a spark.
- And when decorating, be sure to keep the pathways to the exits unimpeded, just in case an emergency were to occur.
