Wisconsin is among the 37 states that are receiving a portion of an investment from the USDA.
The total investment is $ 42.5 million in 133 distance learning and telemedicine projects, which is estimated to benefit 5.4 million residents throughout the country.
There are a total of 21 Wisconsin counties that will be affected by this investment, but the specific counties were not identified in the release.
The Wisconsin Director of the USDA, Frank Frassetto said that “Distance learning and telemedicine will help rural Wisconsinites tap into the enormous potential of modern telecommunications for education and health care, two of the keys to economic and community development.”
