One Sheboygan resident was displaced following their home started on fire Friday evening.
According to a news release from the Sheboygan Fire Department, the Sheboygan County 911 Center received a report of the fire at around 7:00 p.m. and dispatched crews to the 2600 block of Elm Avenue.
They quickly entered the two-family residence and extinguished the blaze. No one was home at the time, but crews were able to rescue a cat that was inside. The one side of the structure was deemed unlivable, but the second family was relatively unaffected.
The fire caused around $10,000 in damage, and the cause is still under investigation.
