The Roncalli High School Board of Directors, representing the Catholic parishes in the region, has chosen Roncalli Catholic Schools as the name of the Pre K-12 regional school, effective July 1st of 2020.
Roncalli Catholic Schools is a partnership between the present St. Francis of Assisi School and Roncalli High School to serve families who wish to educate their children in the Catholic traditions. A news release from Roncalli states that there has been a 20 percent enrollment growth in their 3K – grade 8 programs over the past four years and with that a capital campaign is underway to help build an additional school in Manitowoc.
The proposed 80 thousand square foot St. John XXIII campus to be built on donated land on Michigan Avenue across from Riverview Elementary School, will serve students in grades 3k – grade 8. Current Roncalli High School President John Stelzer has been appointed by the Roncalli High School Board of Directors as the first President of Roncalli Catholic Schools.
In a news release Stelzer states “I feel very blessed to be called to help lead our Catholic School. I’m excited to work more closely with our students-parents-parishes and our community to help students grow spiritually and academically. I strongly believe that we can improve upon an already excellent education through additional collaboration.” A new Board of Trustees for Roncalli Catholic Schools will be formed on July first.
