A Sheboygan based farming organization is slated to receive a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture.
Sheboygan River Progressive Farmers is one of 27 groups statewide that are receiving such grants. They will get $35,000 so they can continue to work with conservation agencies and organizations to address soil and water issues in the Sheboygan river watershed. This money will help cover expenses not already covered by other state and federal programs.
The goal of the organization is to reach out to non-member farmers to help them adopt conservation practices as well.
