
Four elderly passengers of a bus in Appleton have suffered injuries after a bus they were riding suddenly slammed on its breaks for a stoplight yesterday morning.
The bus remained stopped while crews tended to the wounded at the intersection of Ballard Road and Northland Avenue at around 10:15 AM.
The bus was actually carrying 11 passengers, who were all residents and staff at the Appleton Rehabilitation Center. The injured passengers ranged in age from 71 to 99 years old.
An investigation is currently underway into the type and level of passenger restraint used on the bus as well as other possible contributing factors in the incident.
