The woman who was taken by her ex-boyfriend and shot in front of police officers on Tuesday is beginning to recover.
According to reports, Babette Caraballo is in a Green Bay hospital and is no longer in a life-threatening condition, but still has a long way to go before she is fully recovered.
Caraballo and the now deceased suspect Luis Cardona had a history of issues, including Caraballo taking out a restraining order on him after Cardona told her “If you don’t come back with me, you don’t know what I’m able to do.”
Cardona was scheduled to appear in Brown County Court Nov. 19 for an initial appearance in the bail jumping/restraining order violation case but was shot and killed by a Kewaunee County Deputy after he shot Caraballo.
