A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) as they celebrate their independence of becoming their own non-profit organization in Manitowoc County.
Assisting Julie Ribley with the ribbon cutting was State Representative Paul Tittl, Manitowoc County Circuit Court Judges Jerilyn Dietz and Robert Dewane, Chamber Executive Director Karen Nichols, members of the Chamber Board of Directors, Chamber Ambassadors, and friends from the community.
CASA serves children that have been adjudicated to be in need of protection and services due to abuse and or neglect by a parent and or caregiver. Manitowoc County CASA Program had been operating under Lakeshore Community Action Program since the program originated in 2006 and is now operating under CASA of East Central Wisconsin.
