Both Manitowoc and Manitowoc County’s jobless rate declined in October. Numbers released by the State Department of Workforce Development show the city’s unemployment rate was 2.9% down from 3.2% in September but higher than last October’s number of 2.5%.
The county’s jobless rate of 2.8% is down slightly from the September number of 2.9% but a half a percent increase from last October’s rate of 2.3%.
Preliminary October 2019 unemployment rates declined or stayed the same in 32 of Wisconsin’s 33 largest cities and 68 of the state’s 72 counties, including Manitowoc.
