A Manitowoc man is facing charges after he allegedly struck and strangled his ex-girlfriend.
Police responded to the domestic incident in the 1400 block of Washington Street at around 1:30 PM yesterday, and found the victim visibly upset.
She informed the officers that she had gotten into an argument with her 35 year old ex-boyfriend earlier that day. During the argument he allegedly struck her, causing the victim to fall to the ground.
She then left the scene, and came back later in the day to gather her belongings, but the argument flared up again. It was then that the man reportedly grabbed her by the throat, and drug her down the apartment stairs.
The man then left the scene, but was spotted by officers a short time later, and was taken into custody on charges of Strangulation or Suffocation, and Battery, both with Domestic Violence Orders.
