A player who started his major league career with the Milwaukee Brewers is on this year’s Hall of Fame ballot.
Gary Sheffield’s name is on the list released Monday. In a 22 year career, Sheffield had 509 home runs, five Silver Slugger Awards and nine appearances in All-Star games. He was drafted sixth overall by the Brewers in 1986.
He was called up to the majors in 1988 and played with Milwaukee for four seasons – before being traded to San Diego.
