There have been hundreds of stories from around the country of people, including teens, that have been hospitalized after using vaping devices.
The Lester Public Library in Two Rivers is doing their part in trying to curb that trend, by hosting a “Take Back the Vape” event this Thursday. The Two Rivers High School tobacco prevention group FACT is organizing the event along with Healthiest Manitowoc County, re:TH!NK and the Rotary Club of Two Rivers.
Student who turn their vaping devices in at the library between 3:30 and 7:00 PM on Thursday will be entered into a drawing where they can win a $30 gift certificate to Strand Adventures. Four of these gift cards will be given out.
Every participant will walk away with a gift bag, which includes a letter of encouragement in their path towards quitting, and a day pass for the YMCA.
