We are now going to have to wait even longer to learn if convicted killer Steven Avery will get a new trial.
The Court of Appeals District 2 on Thursday granted the state’s last-minute motion seeking more time to respond to Steven Avery’s latest request for a new trial in the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach.
They have been given until February 11th 2020 to submit their response.
Sheboygan County Circuit Court Judge Angela Sutkiewicz denied Avery a new trial, which lead to Avery’s lead attorney Kathleen Zellner filing with the Wisconsin Appeals Court.
