The Oostburg man that is facing charges after allegedly making a terroristic threat was back in Sheboygan County Court yesterday.
22-year-old Aaron Mauer was arrested earlier this month after posting a picture on Snapchat which saw him wearing a trench coat and a mask and holding an AR-15 rifle, with the caption “Coming to a school near you.” A friend of Mauer took a screenshot of the picture and reported him to authorities.
Mauer claims the post was a joke, and that it was part of his Halloween costume.
Police ended up seizing six firearms from his home, including the one in the photo.
Mauer is charged with Making a Terrorist Threat, and Disorderly Conduct. If he is found guilty he could spend up to 45 months in prison, and $11,000 in fines.
