A Reedsville man was hit with his 9th OWI over the weekend.
A driver in Denmark reported that they saw 73-year-old Thomas Haese drive the wrong way down the I-43 off-ramp at Highway 96 at around 1:15 p.m., and attempted to do a Y-turn to correct himself.
When officers pulled Haese over, they noted that his speech was slurred and that he was unable to stand on his own. Haese admitted to officers that he had been drinking, a sentiment that was confirmed when officers found an empty bottle of vodka in his car.
Haese was determined to have a Blood Alcohol Content of a whopping 0.235%, which is well over the legal limit of 0.08%.
He is now being held on $15,000 bail and is also facing charges of driving the wrong direction and having open alcohol container in his car.
