City leaders in Sun Prairie are trying to clear the way for more parents to get involved with city government. The City Council has set aside more than 23-thousand dollars to cover the cost of free childcare during city meetings. It’s in the 2020 budget. Babysitting staff would be available for more than 30 regularly-scheduled city council, board and sub-committee meetings. The Sun Prairie City Council will discuss the budget at a November 19th meeting.
