Prairie du Chien police say somebody is using a chainsaw or handsaw to cut down trees, leaving the saplings behind.
The vandal targets trees four-to-six inches in diameter on St. Feriole Island in the Mississippi River. Investigators are hoping somebody will help them solve the case.
Four trees were cut down October 29th and a fifth on November 4th – all along Villa Louis Road. The only evidence so far is tire marks found near the felled trees.
