The U-S Air Force has ended the public comment period over locating F-35 fighter jets at Madison’s Truax Field.
A news release says the military will make a final decision next spring. Support for the F-35 relocation to the 115th Fighter Wing in Madison has been mixed. Supporters point to hundreds of jobs and a major impact on the economy.
People living near Truax are worried about noise pollution.
If they are coming to Madison, the first fighter jets would start landing in 2024.
