An Oostburg man has been convicted of First Degree Reckless Homicide in a 2-year-old double homicide case.
43-year-old Sergio Moises Ochoa was originally charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, but due to no direct witnesses to the crime remaining alive, the charge was lessened to get the conviction. Ochoa was arrested after Luis Garcia and Fernando Lara Lopez were found dead in an Oostburg home.
Sheboygan County District Attorney Joel Urmanski said that only three people know what happened that night but “unfortunately only one of them is still alive.”
Ochoa’s sentencing date is set for January 14th, in which he could spend up to 80 years in prison, and 40 years of extended supervision.
