For the second time is as many days, the Manitowoc Police Department has made another drug arrest.
Officers were monitoring a residence in the 2100 block of Kemper Street at around 8:00 last night, after neighbors reported people parking, entering the residence, and leaving shortly after. This kind of behavior may indicate drug activity.
An officer began to follow an individual that left the home, and turned on his emergency lights after seeing he had no seatbelt on, and that his muffler was defective. The man failed to stop, and led police on a short chase, before stopping his vehicle, and immediately exiting. The officer drew his weapon and ordered the man to stay in his car.
After backup units arrived, the 43 year old man was placed in the back of a squad car, and K9 Major swept the outside of the car. When he came up with a positive hit, the car was searched, which uncovered a baggie of marijuana, and several pieces of drug paraphernalia.
The man was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail on charges of Possession of THC and Drug Paraphernalia, one count of Felony Bail Jumping, and three counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
