The 15 year old accused of contributing to the death of a 7 year old Newton boy may have his case moved into the juvenile system. Damian Hauschultz was 14 at the time when his cousin Ethan Hauschultz died.
The main difference in the two systems is that those tried in Juvenile Court tend to have sentences that aim to rehabilitate the accused in an attempt to get the young person back on the straight and narrow.
Forensic psychologist, Deborah Collins argued for the change because Damian displayed symptoms of an unspecified anxiety disorder and trauma which may be linked to abuse, but also tested with a higher than average intelligence.
Damian, along with his uncle Timothy Hauschultz and his wife Tina McKeever-Hauschultz are accused of forcing Ethan to carry a heavy log, and stomping his face into the ground, which eventually lead to his death.
