A simple traffic stop in Manitowoc last night turned into a drug bust.
An officer was posted up near the Evergreen Cemetery at around 9:25 PM, and saw a vehicle traveling around 15 MPH over the speed limit. When he pulled the vehicle over, he recognized the driver from previous drug related incidents.
A check with dispatch revealed that the 30 year old driver was driving with a suspended license, and due to his previous drug arrests, K9 Neko was called upon to perform a search of the vehicle. Neko was alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle, so a physical search was conducted, uncovering a baggie of meth, a baggie of marijuana, and several items of drug paraphernalia.
The man was then taken into police custody, and is facing charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, and THC, both with Intent to Deliver, as well as Possession of a Schedule 2 Drug, and Drug Paraphernalia, and one count of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
