It is that time of year again; time for local governments to get their budgets ready for next year. The Sheboygan County Board will be gathering this evening to take a look at the proposed budget for next year, with more than $158 million up for debate in an open session.
If the board approves the changes, residents who live in a $100,000 home will see a drop of $8 a month in their property tax bills. This lowering marks the fourth year in a row of that trend. The change would be seen on the bill that arrives in December, again if the budget is approved as is tonight.
The proposed budget is currently available for inspection at the county administration building.
