Suspect In Fatal Beloit Shooting Taken Into Custody

Beloit police say members of the community came forward with critical information which led to an arrest in the fatal shooting last week of 19-year-old Enrique Ramirez.  He was shot Wednesday and died early Thursday morning at Mercy Hospital in Janesville.  Thirty-year-old Chet A. Hummell was taken into custody in Rockford, Illinois Friday on a charge of felon in possession of a firearm.  The Rock County District Attorney’s Office will review the evidence before adding more charges.
