The driver of the Sheboygan garbage truck which struck and killed a 9-year-old boy is not being charged with any crime.
This news comes as the State Patrol released their findings in that case, and declared that because 9-year-old Roman Martin failed to yield the right of way, the driver was not at fault. The incident occurred on October 9th, at the corner of 14th Street and Center Avenue.
The City of Sheboygan released a statement following the issuance of the report, saying that the Department of Public Works is “still grieving along with the family of Roman Martin and the entire city about this tragic accident.”
All Burger King locations in Sheboygan are raising money for Roman’s family today, with 20% of their proceeds going to the family.
