The scammers are back at it again, this time using the threat of a power cut. Some people have been reporting that they have been contacted by an individual who claims to be with the power company. They are threatening to cut off your power if your bill is not paid within the following four hours.
While utility companies will shut off power for lack of payment, they would never threaten their customers in this way. If you ever have any doubt that the person calling you is legitimate, hang up, and call the number on the business website. If you have been the victim of a scam, call the police to report it.
