Bail is set at $2,000 cash for a 36-year-old Manitowoc man facing multiple charges following a break-in at a city residence over the weekend. Richard Vice is charged with Disorderly Conduct–Use of a dangerous weapon enhancer-Obstructing an Officer and four counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping. Vice also had several bench warrants out for his arrest for which $3,000 cash bail was issued.
A man told police that he was sleeping in a chair at an apartment in the 1700 block of Cedar Grove Drive when he saw an intruder trip over the chair, and proceed to enter a bedroom where he reportedly trashed the room flipping over and slashing items with a large hunting knife. Vice then allegedly jumped out of a second-story window, crossed the street and entered a car where he was taken into custody.
He remains in the County Jail with an initial appearance for his new charges set for next Monday at 2:30. Plea dates on his bench warrants are scheduled on various dates in November.
