Bail was set at $10,000 cash for Jacob Hetue, charged with fleeing, possession of methamphetamine as a repeater and possession of drug paraphernalia. Conditions of bail are that Hetue not operate a motor vehicle-maintain absolute sobriety-not possess any drug paraphernalia including syringes and report to the County Sheriff’s Department for photos and prints upon release. He remains in the County Jail with an initial appearance scheduled for next Monday morning at 9:30.
On Friday, October 25 at approximately 9:35 a.m., officers from the Two Rivers Police Department attempted to stop a 2006 Ford Fusion as the operator, 22-year-old Jacob Hetue from Manitowoc, had a valid Felony Arrest Warrant from the Department of Corrections. The Two Rivers Police Department stopped pursuing the vehicle when it left the city of Two Rivers.
At 9:46 a.m., a Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Deputy located the vehicle traveling southbound on Old Q Road within the township of Kossuth. When the deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the operator once again fled.
The pursuit ended in the City of Manitowoc when a deputy utilized a Pursuit Intervention Technique near the intersection of N 8th St. and Waldo Blvd. The vehicle spun out and temporarily stopped in a yard on the northeast quadrant of the intersection. The operator attempted to flee again so a second deputy pinned the vehicle. The operator refused to exit the vehicle and ignored verbal commands; therefore, a Manitowoc County K-9 “Keto” was utilized to assist with the apprehension.
The suspect was arrested for Fleeing, Operating While Intoxicated, Operating with a Revoked Driver’s License, Resisting Arrest and the DOC Warrant. Deputies pursued the vehicle for a total of 8.2 miles and reached speeds of 95 MPH.
