With Halloween next Thursday you may want to know what’s in for costumes and masks this year. SeehaferNews.com spoke with Dawn Dabeck, owner of the Mad Hatter & Dead by Dawn Dead & Breakfast 901 S. Eighth St. in downtown Manitowoc. Dabeck said the most popular Halloween wear surrounds the clown Pennywise, from the movie It Part 2. She also said that Spiderman, Shazam, and other superheroes are in high demand as well as the characters from The Descendants.
Dabeck on the traditional masks that are selling well, “Michael Meyers, Leatherface, Freddy, and Jason are all very popular,” she said. “This year there are also some creepy party animal masks that are very popular as well.”
The downtown business-owner tells us she doesn’t see the popularity of political masks this Halloween. “I think people are wanting to have a little more fun,” she speculated. “Also the do it yourself costumes… are the costumes that win the contests.”
Though she doesn’t carry costumes anymore, Dabeck does sell masks and accessories such as wigs and makeup for the season.
