The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) urges consumers currently disconnected to contact their local utility to make arrangements for service reconnection prior to the start of the winter heating moratorium. During the moratorium, from November 1 to April 15, utilities are prohibited from disconnecting customers who are behind on their bills. Consumers without utility service are encouraged to contact their utility to establish a payment plan and arrange for reconnection prior to the onset of cold winter temperatures. If consumers cannot reach an agreement with their utility, they may contact the PSC by calling 608-266 -2001 or 1-800-225-7729, or by going to pdc.wi.gov and logging a complaint.
