About 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, according to the American Cancer Society. The disease remains the most common cancer among women, except for skin cancers.
Throughout the month of October, the Prevea Manitowoc Health Center, located at 4810 Expo Dr. in Manitowoc, will be lit in the color pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
A couple of ways women can reduce their risk of getting breast cancer is by looking for lumps, maintaining a healthy weight, being physically active, limiting or avoiding alcohol, and including fruits and vegetables in their diet.
