The union representing Milwaukee County bus drivers says there won’t be a strike right now. That announcement was made Wednesday, just a few hours after the union president had suggested drivers could go on strike as soon as today (Thursday). Amalgamated Transit Union Local 998 is waiting for the Transit System to respond to its latest letter. Drivers want more pay and restoration of bus routes which have been eliminated. They’re also worried about security on the job.
