High-scoring guard Markus Howard of the Marquette Golden Eagles has been named to the Associated Press preseason All-American team. Howard is returning from a season where he scoring 25 points-a-game, including a Marquette record 53 against Creighton and 45 against both Buffalo and Kansas State. Joining Howard on the team named this week are Cassius Winston of Michigan State, Myles Powell of Seton Hall, Jordan Nwora of Louisville and James Wiseman of Memphis. Powell was picked to be the Big East Player of the Year – an award won last season by Howard.
