The renovation of the Schuette building in downtown Manitowoc has hit a construction delay. During the Monday night Common Council meeting, an extension was granted for the contractors to finish construction. Council President Eric Sitkowitz was asked if there was a specific reason for the delay. “Anytime you are renovating an old building, you’re gonna come up with a couple of issues,” he explained to SeehaferNews.com. “There was nothing specifically identified as the reason for the delay…so a 60-day extension seemed appropriate.” Doneff Builders now has until December 31st to finish the renovation. The former Schuette building is located downtown on the corner of 8th and Jay Street.
