With Halloween and trick-or-treating right around the corner, providers at the Prevea Manitowoc Health Center encourage everyone to make the health and safety of their family a priority. They advise that children avoid trick-or-treating alone. They should either walk in groups, or with a trusted adult. While traveling between houses, trick or treaters should be sure to stay on the sidewalks when possible, and only enter homes when with a trusted adult. While there haven’t been any notable cases of candy tampering in our area, it is still a very good idea for parents to check over their children’s candy just to make sure it is legitimate candy, and hasn’t been tampered. And one final tip, avoid home-baked goods, especially if your children have food allergies.
