Eau Claire police say the 21-year-old man who died in a house fire over the weekend didn’t live there. Fire crews found the body of Jaime Thayer-Vega inside the burning house. A man who did live there says he saw an intruder early Saturday and there was a physical confrontation. That man says he notified the other residents of the house and they got out safely. None of them knew Thayer-Vega who apparently died of smoke inhalation.
