The Wisconsin Badgers have dropped out of the top-10 in this week’s college football poll after suffering the 24-23 upset loss at Illinois Saturday. James McCourt kicked a 39-yard field goal as time expired in Champaign to give the Illini what their coach called a “signature win.” The Badgers were favored to win by more than 30 and hadn’t trailed all season. Wisconsin was up by nine points with less than 10 minutes to go. Jonathan Taylor rushed for 132 yards and one touchdown, while quarterback Jack Coan connected on 24-of-32 passes for 264 yards and a score. It was Coan’s interception with two-and-a-half minutes to go that set up the winning kick for Illinois. Wisconsin plays Ohio State next Saturday.
