At first, students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison thought the signs they were seeing may have been threatening. They read: “U-W is 4 White People.” Then, it was pointed out the signs were placed around campus as a part of a protest by students of color. They were quickly taken down, but some students say conversations about race on the campus are something that needs to happen. Just a few weeks ago the university had to take down a controversial homecoming video which many said didn’t represent the entire campus community because it lacked minority faces.
