Starting at 10:00 this morning, the Lake Michigan lakeshore area from Door County down through to Manitowoc County will be under a Lakeshore Flood Advisory. The combination of strong east to southeast winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 45 mph and high wave action will lead to flooding of low lying areas along the Lake Michigan shoreline. High wave action may spill over on to roads and parking lots near the immediate coast. Beach erosion is also likely.Weatherology.com suggests people should stay off piers and jetties to avoid being swept into the lake. The advisory is expected to be lifted at around 10:00 this evening.
