Valders captured the Boys title Saturday at the Eastern Wisconsin Conference Cross Country Championships, hosted by Sheboygan Falls. Brillion was 2nd, Kiel 4th, Two Rivers 5th & Roncalli 7th.
The Vikings of Coach Bill Dietrich had 8 runners among the top-15, including 1st place finisher Shane Griepentrog in a time of 16:37.
In the E-W-C Girls race, Two Rivers grabbed the crown followed by Kiel and Valders. The TR-Raiders had the top 3 finishers in Anna Gallagher, Mikeala Helling and Makenzie Greenwood.
At the Big East Conference meet at Sheboygan Lutheran High School, Manitowoc Lutheran’s Brooklyn Luebke was the individual champion to lead the Lancer girls to a 5th place finish.
The Lutheran boys placed 3rd according to Coach Abbey Bubolz and Nolan Winter wound-up 4th overall to earn 1st team all conference, while Josh Zander was accorded 2nd team all-league by finishing 18th.
The Sectional cross country run will be held for area runners this Saturday.
